Hey! I'm Bruno. I'm a software engineer who loves to work with data and help people solve problems. Unlike most other software engineers, I have a bit of a more atypical background. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, which I leveraged in the automotive manufacturing industry for some time before taking the leap into the software world. I firmly believe that this background has helped me develop a perspective that allows me to think practically and keep solutions both simple and effective in a world where over-engineering is all too common.

My entry into the software world was very data-heavy. I cut my teeth early on in this career by working with data in the automotive industry, where I built out large scale, high performance data pipelines to analyze pricing data for auto parts from 125+ different vendors in realtime for users. Shortly after, I found myself developing systems for constantly monitoring and handling alerting for business-critical physical environments that require strict control of factors such as temperature, humidity, and even CO2 content.

From there, I apparently impressed someone enough to get a job working on building out tooling for/managing a data platform and its infrastructure for a Fortune 500 company in the healthcare industry. One of the most interesting aspects of moving from comparatively tiny projects to this role was the sheer scale of systems at play. I was working with provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure, building out CI/CD pipelines, and more, all while ensuring a service uptime of no less than 99.99%.

If you've made it this far, I'll go ahead and assume you're at least a little interested in learning a little about my life outside of all of this 🙂. For starters, I'm a huge car enthusiast and I love participating in motorsports. I have a 1996 BMW 328is for a project car that has steadily been becoming more and more of a dedicated track car over the years. I'm a pretty big tech geek as well, and enjoy spending my time doing anything from building computers to functional 3D printing. I also love traveling and am always looking for some interesting destinations!
